Today was the worst day of my life. I had to go to work at 11 a.m. and my car would not turn on so I was half an hour late to work. I work at a movie theater and today I was assigned to work in the concession stand. Working there during the week means you have to make sure the front of the stand is clean, make sure you have fresh popcorn every 20 minutes, make sure you have hot dogs made, make sure you have pretzels made, make sure your nachos are stocked, make sure your fountain drinks are working, make sure the back of the stand is clean, make sure your freezers are stocked, make sure your candy cases are stocked, and on top of everything you still have to help out the guests. Its hard enough doing all of this by your self. This week, a lot of kids are on spring break and it seems like they all decided to go to the movies. There was so many people today. Because of all of the people, it was hard to keep track of everything. I didn't notice that I didn't have anymore hot dogs and so I started stressing because I had to stock up on hot dogs. Then I was busy helping my guests and I burnt the popcorn. I dumped out the burnt popcorn and made a new batch only to find out that the popcorn popper was broken. Then I had to switch out 9 fountain drink bibs and let me tell you; those bib boxes that are full of soda are so heavy. My arms are so sore. Then one of the oil boxes that we have in our storage room had a hole when it was brought in today and it made this huge mess. There was oil spilled everywhere. Everything was going wrong. At the end of your shift, you have to wait until a manager comes down from the office and cleans out your register before you could leave. I was supposed to be off at 6, but the manager that was supposed to be off at 6 with me left early and the manager that was supposed to be on at 6 called in and said they were going to be late because of a family emergency. I didn't end up leaving until almost 7. It was the longest day of my life. I love my job but not today. The cliche when it rains it pours has never been more true to me.
